Most tinctures are made using standardised recipes. The tinctures we make at Wise Women Village are made very differently. The first step is attention.

You’ll spend the morning beside Clem on the farm and in her apothecary, learning to make a tincture the way she makes every remedy at Wise Women Village. You’ll start with exact observation: "sitting with" the plant, noticing its form, scent, texture and character until you truly know what you’re working with. From there you’ll weigh and measure with care, working with fresh plant material, blend your herbs and prepare your menstruum, and learn the art of succussion, the rhythmic shaking that brings movement and life into the preparation.

It’s slow, precise, hands-on work, and deeply grounding. You’ll leave with a potent preparation you made yourself and a new way of seeing the plants around you.
